2022 has been a whirlwind, right? Vermont Mom has had so much going on this year!
In January, I became the sole owner of Vermont Mom. One of the first things I did was to add to my incredibly talented group of Contributing Writers with some new authors who amaze and inspire me just like the existing writing team. It is always my goal to amplify all voices that represent motherhood in Vermont, particularly those that are frequently silent or underrepresented.
In February, I collaborated with some outstanding local businesses to create and sell Valentine’s Day gift boxes that were hugely successful. It was such a fun project and I am thinking about what we can do to show ourselves some love this Valentine’s Day. And I closed the year by offering readers the chance to buy tickets to our Photos with Santa event which sold out in less than four hours and was absolutely magical for everyone involved.
From collaborating with local farms, boutiques, telecommunications businesses, and ice cream makers, to sharing accurate information about Covid-19 vaccination, highlighting an exceptional flag football player, and sharing information about how to make home Internet access more affordable for low-income families, Vermont Mom has been working with local and national businesses that serve Vermont families every single day. We are eager to continue to develop mutually beneficial business relationships, so please reach out if you are interested in collaborating with us. Contact Jemima at [email protected] to learn more.
As always, it is our privilege to be a support, resource, and voice for Vermont moms and families.
To be clear: we don’t claim to be experts. We just enjoy sharing our successes, failures, hot tips, and humbling and hilarious moments. We aim to be genuine. We don’t always agree with each other, and you DEFINITELY don’t always agree with us (remember Puddle-Jumper-Gate of 2022?) but we care a lot about each other and about Vermont moms and families and cherish the opportunity to voice opposing viewpoints so that we can learn from each other and grow. We embrace community, fair and authentic debate, and saying sorry like we mean it when we make a mistake. It happens.
If you have something to express, and represent Vermont’s beautiful diversity, feel free to get in touch with us about being a guest author. We would love to hear from you!
