Yogurt and granola has become the go-to after school snack for everyone in my family. My two elementary aged children felt it was time to give our homemade granola a make-over. Together, we came up with something pretty darn fabulous! We like it best combined with our new favorite vanilla bean Greek yogurt. Hello local luscious love!
Making granola is totally doable without feeling like a Pinterest failure! Without further ado, our recipe:
Sean and Sophia’s HodgePodge Granola
2 cups rolled oats
1/2 cup crushed cashews or almonds
1/2 cup sweetened or unsweetened coconut
1/4 cup sunflower seeds
1/8 cup sesame seeds
1/4 cup vegetable oil
1/4 cup coconut oil
1/8 cup honey
1/2 cup real maple syrup
3/4 tsp cinnamon
1 tsp vanilla
grated orange zest, to taste
pinch nutmeg
Mix and lay flat on stoneware or a greased jellyroll pan. Bake at 350 for approx 30 – 35 minutes, stirring every 8 – 10 minutes.
Cool slightly (yes, only slightly…can you really resist warm granola?) and pour over some yogurt and berries. Devour.
I’m definitely going to give this a try! Yum!
This looks delicious Tricia!
