It is always thought-provoking to look back on the engaging and relevant posts the Vermont Moms team shared with you over the past year. Stories that moved you, stories that made you write an angry comment or email, tips and tricks to make parenting a little easier, or maybe just to remind you that you are not going through this alone. Parenthood is a journey, and Vermont moms are in it together. This is one of the only places I know of where we still all keep an eye on other people’s children. Vermont is special, and parenting here is such a privilege.
Thus begins our review of our most popular posts of the year!
Our most popular post of 2025 is from none other than Kayla, who is the most prolific and likely longest-serving writer on our team. She has written 142 posts, and we love her wry humor, down-to-earth parenting style, and unvarnished truth. And her skills. We need her skills, particularly for no-sew clothing alterations. Kayla reminds us that it’s ok to cut some corners when it allows you to focus on what’s truly important. Hemming your pants never needs to be a crisis.
Our second most popular post is from Kerri, who is mom to a toddler and a teen, and who loves peace in her home so much that she developed some amazing organizing systems to help her keep everything on track. She has generously shared her own forms and planning tools so that you, too, can bring some calm into your home life. Kerri’s post reviewing digital family calendars was published in November and took off in a huge way!
Our third most popular post of 2025 is from Chelsea, who writes about their life in a way that is so honest, reflective, and humble that their words just knock the breath right out of you. People love Chelsea, and there’s a reason all of their posts are so popular. This post, in particular, means a lot to me because they explain what it’s like being a nonbinary parent in a way that allows me to understand their experience a little better. I think it is essential that we all make a greater effort to understand others, now more than ever.
Now that I have highlighted our top 3 posts of 2025, let me offer up the entire top 10 most popular posts of the year! They are all fantastic!

Some people look down on moms’ blogs, maybe thinking they are trivial and frivolous. I think this disrespect is just another way of minimizing the value of women’s work and our intelligence. Blogging is one outlet many moms like because it’s cheap or free, we can write short articles in the tiny pockets of time we have, and writing allows us to flex our dormant intelligence while we practice vocalizing and counting to ten and learning the alphabet and carpooling and the millions of other things moms do.
When I look at Vermont Moms’ most popular posts of the year, I am stuck by the enormity of the issues our team writes about. From the deeply personal to the practical, from national issues to ones that are a little closer to home, we write about topics that are important to us as individuals, to us as mothers, and to us as global citizens. We believe in science and fact, and cite trustworthy sources in every article. Our voices and opinions are not for sale.
In this age of attacks on media and the silencing of dissenting voices, we remain a space where writers can present different opinions based on their lived experiences. And that is something we are proud to carry into 2026.
As an occasional data nerd, I enjoy looking at not just the top 10 most popular posts of the year, but also the top 10 most popular posts of the past 5 years, for comparison.
