Try this. It’s good. It’s beef. It’s easy. I have a working fear of cooking red meat and have been known to spend 50% of my grocery time meticulously reading labels at the meat counter. I just feel like a cow has too many parts that require too many variances in cooking for me to be interested in learning.
But then there is this recipe I came across once when having meat loving guests over for dinner, and now I have made it 4 times. I can almost identify a chuck roast by sight. It isn’t fancy and won’t win me any invitations to Chopped, but by golly I now cook beef in a crockpot.
Crockpot Balsamic Beef
Whisk together in the bottom of a slow cooker:
1/2 cup finely chopped onion
1 cup beef broth
1/2 cup brown sugar
1/4 cup balsamic vinegar
2 T soy sauce
1 T red pepper flakes
2 cloves minced garlic
Salt and pepper
This looks yummy Christin! I’m planning on trying it this week 🙂
