What I’ve been up to… Like spending a couple days in Boston, and getting ready for a vacation

Between work, two kids, trying to be an attentive wife and wanna-be Suzie Homemaker, I find myself taking pictures to keep my life in focus. Luckily for you, I’m the sharing type.

First, I need to share some sad news. Two weeks ago, I posted on how we welcomed a new puppy, Liberty, into our family. Due to our youngest daughter developing an allergic reaction, we had to bring the puppy back to the wonderful family who we got her from. While Makinkeys reaction was not considered ‘severe’, her being only 6 months old and having and allergic reaction was concerning enough for us to make the tough decision that we made. Please know that this was NOT an easy decision on any of us, and rocked us to the core. You never want to have to decide between an animal who you just welcomed and invited into your family, who you’ve prepared for, who you’ve had tine to get excited for, who you’ve got your 3 year old excited for, but at the end of the day, our daughters will always come first! Period. I appreciate those who have expressed positive condolences on the situation.

Following this heartbreaking time, we decided that we needed a weekend away. So on a whim, we packed our bags and headed out to Boston. It was a great weekend, with tears here and there, but all in all we had a wonderful time. We spent some time swimming at the hotel, going shopping, and visited the aquarium.

This mini getaway reminded us how great it is to get away for a little bit, so we decided to move up our vacation to North Carolina by 2 months! And with the SNOW that we’re getting, I’m pretty damn excited! We don’t leave for another 38 days (who’s counting?!?), but a girl can dream, right??
I know that it’s not going to be super warm in NC towards the end of April, but we’ll totally pretend while swimming at the hotel! And, I needed a reason to go swimsuit shopping for the girls. Because how cute is this?

While I truly do love Vermont, it’s great being less than 3 hours from a city like Boston! And can you blame me for dreaming of warmer weather?!

Enough about me! What have you been up to?

  1. That is a super cute swimsuit! I know how you feel, I just went shopping for kids swimsuits thinking that warm weather is just around the corner. I may have jumped the gun a little. At this rate they will probably grow out of them before wearing them! Sorry about the doggy 🙁
