Read this: The Girl on The Train by Paul Hawkins
Watch this: The Girl on The Train, a 2016 major motion picture
Overall Opinion of the Book
Claire: I liked it. It was a little confusing to keep up with the characters at first, but it helped having multiple narrators. I haven’t read the other girl on the books so not sure how they compare.
Julie: I liked it more than I thought it would. Yes, it is the same as all of the other “girl on the/girl in the” books and yes it’s obviously calling back to the classics like Rear Window and Gaslight. I liked the story, writing, and characters way better than The Woman in the Window, even though at their cores they’re very similar.
Overall Opinion of the Movie
Julie: The movie was just, meh. I didn’t expect the movie to follow all three women. I thought it would just follow Rachel. The spicy scenes 😳
Claire: It was okay. I was mostly thrown off by some weird camera angels but nothing super crazy. The killing at the end was more brutal than i was expecting.
