Valentine’s Day is right around the corner. Do you love the holiday or loathe it? Do you go out or stay in? Is it a special day or just any other day? Well, regardless of how you feel about Cupid, we would love to shower you with some love and announce our next Mommy Makeover.
Back by popular demand…ok, we were bringing it back anyway…we are pleased to announce that Mommy Makeovers is back and just in time for Valentine’s Day. Once again, one lucky lady will win a day of pampering at some of our favorite Burlington hotspots. And here’s the 411 on how the day is going to play out.
The day starts at Mini Spa VT. You might not know them by their new name but I’m sure many of you were familiar with Tootsies. Yep, one and the same. If you haven’t been to Mini Spa VT yet…you should! They are famous for their feet but they are so much more. From the moment you walk in, the space is warm and inviting with friendly smiles all around. Kind of a cozy urban oasis! There our winner will receive a facial from their new REN skincare line. REN’s philosophy can be summed up in 3 words: performance, purity and pleasure. With groundbreaking product formulas, they use only 100% plant and mineral derived compounds mixed with pleasing fragrances to provide you with a relaxing yet invigorating experience. Then it’s off to Whim Clothing Boutique on Church Street. Whim has been bringing Burlington ladies casual designer wear for seven years. They sell quality goods made in the USA or by designers that use fair trade. They are giving a $50 gift certificate to our winner so she can get herself a little something special. Whim has a thoughtful selection of styles that are unique to the area. Each piece makes a statement so no matter what our winner picks she’s sure to stand out.
Pampering and shopping can work up an appetite so lunch is next on the agenda. One of our Church Street favs, Boloco, is offering our lady a free burrito and fountain drink to satisfy any hunger pangs she might have.
For the final stretch of the day our winner will be off to Indigo Salon. Indigo is located on Battery Street but overlooks beautiful Lake Champlain. And when I say overlook, I mean it! They have a huge bank of windows that stretch the length of their salon so while you get your hair done you have the most absolutely stunning view. I love Indigo for several different reasons. They are professional, prompt and friendly. They also make sure their stylists are well educated and follow the latest styles and trends to bring you the exact hairstyle you want. From the receptionist greeting you at the door, to your stylist, to management, everyone has a smile. They are a one-stop shop, they kind of do it all. Haircuts, color, hair removal, lash tinting, and makeup are just a few of the services they provide. I could go on and on but what you really want to know is what they’re offering our winner. Indigo Salon will be doing a haircut, color and makeup application for our winner.
During the appointment at Indigo, Kathleen Porter of North Photography will be stopping by to snap a few pics. Kathleen is a fantastic photographer! She our blog photographer and you can find her work on any given page on our blog. She also writes for us too. Very multi-talented! She’ll be stopping by Indigo to take some pictures of our winner during the final makeover stages. You’ll see more of her work once this is all complete.
Finally, its date time, it is after all the day after Valentine’s Day. Our friends over at Skinny Pancake have donated a $25 gift certificate for our lucky lady to enjoy some good eats and maybe a drink or two before returning home.

I was recently at the Mini Spa for a pedicure and loved it!
I hardly do anything for myself, with having 2 kids and a husband, I always tend to put them all before things I need… so this would be a great treat for myself!!!!! being a full time working mom and also in ministry at my church there is not a lot of “me” time… so this would be a HUGE blessing for sure.. and also bring a little spark back to my marriage… I also turn 30 in a month and so this would be a great treat!!!!
Who would not want this?!! It is AMAZING!!! I am a mom an almost 4 year old girl and an almost 2 year old boy. Our family life is super busy, my husband works a ton of hours and is in the Army Reserves. I work pretty much non-stop at my full time job, a part time coach, and obviously all the time mom! A makeover anytime would be fantastic. But I’m 4 months pregnant with twins (#2 and #3) and don’t have that pregnancy glow. I feel like I’ve looked tired since November. It would be so nice to have a day for me and a little makeover to make this mamma feel a little more special.
