Jemima’s Review
When Julie and I were offered the opportunity to review various Vegamour premium hair care products, we were both thrilled.
I was thrilled because I’ve read many positive reviews about Vegamour and love trying new products. Julie was probably thrilled because I worked her into a frenzy by sending her 75 brief texts over 5 minutes at 6 AM. She loves that. Who wouldn’t?
People are often surprised when I express my passion for skin and hair care products. Indeed, I spend most of my time trying to make a difference in the world by volunteering on our district’s school board, publishing content to support moms and families, doing Pilates, or cooking for my family and friends. But I have a racing, curious mind and if I am not researching medical conditions and their cures, you know, for my amateur medical practice, I am digging deep into all the latest reviews of hair and skin care products. Very deep. Deep enough so I know what the unpronounceable words on your shampoo bottle actually mean.
As a 49-year-old mom solidly in perimenopause, I have a warning for you young things.
That hair loss that you experienced after giving birth… yeah. That happens again when you’re older. It’s slower, and a little more subtle, but one day it is likely that you too will be Googling how to prevent hair loss and encourage growth. It sucks, and I’m sorry.
In addition to being as old as Father Time, my hair is thin, delicate, prone to breaking and frizz, and slow to grow.
Truth be told, I tried the only FDA-approved treatment for hair loss in women, Minoxidil, but it made my hair greasy where I applied it and my doctor had concerns about me starting to use it at age 47. You see, Minoxidil must be used consistently, otherwise, the new hair will fall out within a couple of months.
I wanted to try Vegamour for hair growth and preservation, but the cost was a barrier. This regime is not cheap. I didn’t want to invest in a haircare system before knowing if it would work.
I tried:
- Vegamour GRO Hair Serum– The GRO Hair Serum, a 2022 SHAPE Beauty Award winner, makes your hair look thicker while preventing excess shedding.
- Vegamour GRO Revitalising Shampoo and Conditioner– The GRO Revitalizing Shampoo and Conditioner are to wash and condition your hair. Just kidding. They are “Designed to gently cleanse, smooth and strengthen thinning strands to support thicker, fuller, healthier looking hair.”
- Vegamour GRO Scalp Detoxifying Serum– The GRO Scalp Detoxifying Serum is intended to remove scalp buildup. I hadn’t thought about this before using this product, but it makes sense that a healthy scalp would grow more and healthier hair.
My thinning and aging hair genuinely concerns me. So much so that I cut my mid-back length scraggy hair into an above the shoulders shag a few months ago to make it look thicker.
I used only my Vegamour products for washing, conditioning, and treating my scalp for almost two months to get these before and after pictures. I used some other styling products during this time but was 100% faithful to my Vegamour regime.
Here are my before pics. What do you think?
And here are my after pics.
Even though I am in a much better mood in the after pics than in the before pics, I see a significant difference in my hair. It is, as promised, thicker. There is new growth. And, while I didn’t think this was possible to control, I am absolutely shedding less. It’s a miracle.
I never would have bought these products on my own, and due to the results of this promotion, I just took advantage of Vegamour’s Memorial Day sale to restock. I am not sure which product made the biggest difference for me- so I bought what I used! For me, these products receive a solid two thumbs up.
Now let’s check out Julie’s review of the Vegamour products she tried.
Julie’s Review
I have thick, curly, coarse hair and hate how dry and frizzy it can get. When my hair has a good amount of moisture, I love my curls, but it often gets very frizzy, dull, and knotty. I’m excited to try Vegamour and hope to see my curls more defined and moisturized.
I tried:
- Vegamour GRO Revitalizing Shampoo and Conditioner– These products are for those with thinning hair. They gently cleanse and strengthen thinning strands to support thicker, fuller, healthier-looking hair. They both smell great and I was impressed by how rich the conditioner was.
- Vegamour HYDR-8 Deep Moisture Repair Mask– I cannot get enough of this hair mask! It is so thick and moisturizing. This hydrating and reparative hair mask is formulated to provide intensive moisture, reduce frizz, and renew shine in just five minutes!
- Vegamour HYDR-8 Weightless Repair Oil– This oil smells so good! It is extremely lightweight and is designed to strengthen, smooth, and add natural shine to your hair.
I liked the quality and scent of the shampoo and conditioner, but I don’t think the GRO line is for me. I’ve noticed some new growth, which I’m not thrilled about since my hair is already so thick. Yes, these products make your hair grow. But no, this is not what I need.
On the other hand, I LOVED the HYDR-8 line of products. The Moisture Repair Mask will absolutely be a product I add to my regular rotation because it is so thick and luxurious
I recommend the GRO line to those looking for thicker, fuller hair. It wasn’t for me because that’s not what I’m looking for, but I can see how it would work well for someone else’s needs.
I wholeheartedly recommend the HYDR-8 line for people like me with thick, coarse, curly hair. In addition to continuing to use the HYDR-8 repair mask and repair oil, I also plan to try the HYDR-8 Leave-In-Conditioner.

And here are my afters:
I am a skeptical consumer and even so, the dramatic difference after nearly two months of Vegamour use is pretty obvious.
Jemima and I had a blast trying out these Vegamour products and we both found some new things we can’t live without. If you’ve used Vegamour and have an opinion about the products, please share it in the comments.
