Vermont City Marathon & Relay

YAM Scram

RunVermont will host the 15th Annual Youth Running Festival during marathon weekend. All participants must be 4 to 14 years old by May 23, 2015. Come join them for a festive, fun-filled event of running and excitement. All children receive a finisher’s medal!

Saturday Schedule

  • 7:45-8:30 – Race Packet Pick-up & Activities
  • 8:25 AM – National Anthem
  • 8:30 AM – 2 Mile Run
  • 9:25 AM – Mascot Dash
  • 9:30 AM – 1 Mile Run
  • 10:00 AM – ½ Mile Run

NOTE: On-line Registration will close for YAM SCRAM at 8pm on Wednesday, May 20. There is no race registration after that time!

Cost: $35 per child if registered after May 9th

Lincoln Peak Wine Release Party

Join Lincoln Peak for their Wine Release Party on Sunday, May 24, 2-5 pm. Join and taste the new vintage of 2014 wines and enjoy an afternoon of cheese, music, and tours. Music on the porch provided by Papa Gray Beard (aka Keith Williams), a fun and fabulous one-man band. Bridport Creamery will be here sampling and selling their full range of delicious cheeses. Grab a bunch of cheese curds, a glass of wine, and relax on the porch for the afternoon!

This is a family/child friendly event.

Memorial Day!

There are several Memorial Day Parades taking place throughout the state. Here are a few of them:

Jericho Memorial Day Parade: Parade begins at 11:00am. The parade route is from the Park along Route 15 to the Memorial Green and then along Park Street to the Underhill Cemetery.  Captain Richard Phillips will be the featured speaker.

Middlebury Memorial Day Parade: This parade begins at 9 am Porter Field off of South Street in Middlebury. From Rte 7, follow the signs toward the hospital onto South St. Porter Field is on the right (look for the football field). It finishes at monument across from the intersection of Rte. 7 and Washington Street.

St. Albans Memorial Day Parade: Parade begins at BFA High School and will be in the park around 11:00.  Annual Memorial Day Chicken BBQ with all the fixins beginning at noon following the parade at the Legion.

Swanton Memorial Day Parade: Lineup begins at 1:45. at Raleigh Field, parade proceeds North to Veterans Memorial Park for wreath laying. Continues down Grand Avenue, concluding on the North end of the Village Green at Lady Liberty statue. There, will be a second wreath laying and ceremony. VFW Post 778 will host a barbecue and open house immediately following the parade.

Vergennes Memorial Day Parade: Begins at 11:00 at the High School and winds through the city to end up at the Vergennes City Park.
