Claire: No actual background info. I just saw it at Costco, saw the Netflix sticker, read the back, and thought it would be something we both would like!

Claire: Audiobook. Shoutout to Kathleen Early’s amazing narration. Five stars.

Overall Opinion of the Book
Claire: I really liked the book. I loved that there were multiple points where I was caught off guard, but there were also a few predictable parts. I hardly reread books, but I would this one. I’d probably actually break out the physical book for it.
Julie: I really liked the book and only really saw one small plot hole – Paula letting Andy leave her house/being a professor but being really dumb. I sort of wish Paula had softened and become a hero. Also, she’s killing people for papers that just prove fraud. Doesn’t seem worth it.
Overall Opinion of the Show
Claire: I was impressed with the casting of Andi and Laura. I thought they really resembled each other, looks-wise. I could really see Andi looking like Laura in 20 years.
There was only one time in the show I was really shocked like my mouth dropped open shocked. At the end of episode 7. I was not expecting that at all.
Not great chemistry between most of the actors.
There were a lot of things like little details I was upset they left out of the show.
- No Alabama hat.
- No groping the lucky rabbit’s foot.
- I was expecting the truck Andy stole to not be brand new.
- No cane.
- The storage unit number.
- Maine vs. Idaho.
Julie: The acting is really bad. But, the soundtrack is great. There are a lot of details left out or not expanded on that I think would maybe not make sense to people who hadn’t read the book first (like the flashbacks and the nickel.)
I did like that we got to see what was going on with Laura and Gordon while Andy is on the run, we didn’t get that in the book.
