In Burlington, we have no shortage of interesting and delicious places to eat. I recently experienced another one of these places: New Moon Café.
New Moon Café boasts much more than your typical café. You can enjoy breakfast, lunch, juices, smoothies, and of course baked treats and your ol’cuppa joe. Some of their featured dishes include “Grilled Chicken and Brie” on sourdough bread with apricots; “Grilled Vegetables” on mad river grain with roasted red peppers, eggplant, zucchini, red onion, sun-dried tomato pesto; and “Omega Salad” with spinach greens, salmon, artichoke hearts, tomatoes, walnuts, sesame vinaigrette. Is your mouth watering yet?! If you are in a creative mood, don’t worry! You can design your own burrito, sandwich, salad, juice, or smoothie. All ingredients are local, organic, and house made whenever possible, which is always a plus. You can find their online menu here.
It is clear to me New Moon Café seeks to serve the entire population, including those with food sensitivities (like me). There are many featured vegan, gluten free, and dairy free options. I was very impressed!
That day I was feeling pretty creative, and went with a self-designed salad and juice, while my friend got the “Caesar Salad.”
Although I was there for lunch, I could see New Moon Café is a great place to either work, study, or read. The atmosphere is quiet, there are plenty of comfortable seats (which seems to be an issue at some other local spots), and they have WiFi.
PLUS, did you know that New Moon Café offers free lunch time delivery from 11 AM to 2 PM for orders over $50 and within the square vicinity of Waterfront to College Green and Main Street to Pearl Street?
This place is delicious! It has great atmosphere as well!

I’ve only been once for food- at the Duct Tape Parenting talk. Loved the food and loved the talk!
I love new moon! I have been going since they opened.
I love the cupcakes!
I’ve always been a huge fan of New Moon. I love bringing my family because you can go in the big back room and eat – lots of space to enjoy the yummy food (and the cupcakes are a must!)
One of my faves!!
Love this place – the smoothies and pastries! More to offer for a gluten free vegan than most places in town!
I’ve always wanted to eat at New Moon! Sounds delicious!
The menu looks interesting and the smoothies sound so YUMMY!
I love New Moon, they have yummy mochas 🙂
Make your own salad…. that’s my kind of world! Here’s what I want to order when I win: spinach, TONS of carrots, avocado, cranberries, almonds, cheese, meat. YUM!
