Out of all the makeup transformation techniques, eyebrows are my favorite!
You can change a person’s face so drastically with such little product that the results can make me giddy. Now, eyebrows are obviously pretty low in overall life priorities, but when I’m in my little makeup bubble…it is all about the brows.
As a brunette, I usually sport a fairly bold brow but my favorite looks are the right brows on a very fair redhead or blonde. My model, Jen, has the perfect before and after brows to help illustrate my point.
With a few strokes of an eyebrow brush and a little powder, I was able to change the dynamics of her face. Her forehead/brow area have a definite start and stop and her eyes are nicely framed.
Blondes and redheads need not go super dark with their brows. The general rule of thumb is 2 shades darker than your hair color (about the color of your low lights if you have them). Brunettes should go 2 shades lighter. Gray brows should stick to light taupes; straight gray is too aging.

My favorite tools include Sephora’s Eyebrow Trimmer and Face Secret’s Mascara and Brow Brush.
How To:
1. Start by outlining your brow shape lightly with the product of your choice.
2. Next, lightly fill in with short strokes to imitate hair.
3. Finally, brush out your brows using a clean mascara wand or brow brush to achieve a natural look.
Overly bold or boxy brows are not what we are going for here.

Great article! I get my eyebrows threaded and recently I’ve been having trouble with my eyebrow lady. My eyebrows are completely uneven (one is higher than the other) and I’m looking to go to a a good eyebrow lady. Any recommendations for a salon in Chittenden county?
