4 Kids’ Movies and TV Shows I Can’t Stand

0

My daughter loves to watch a good movie or TV show. I try to limit her screen time on most days, but I have to admit that there have been many moments where her favorite movie has been a life saver. There are many shows and movies that my daughter likes that I actually find cute and enjoyable; Curious George, Frozen, Brave, etc. BUT there are a few shows and movies that I’ve come across that I just. can’t. stand.

In no particular order here are my top 4 movies and TV shows that I wish would just disappear…

Caillou

Caillou

Oh Caillou- do you know that you have the ability to elicit utter disdain and eye rolling by all moms everywhere with just the mention of your name? Perhaps it’s your incesant whining, the fact that everything scares you, or the fact that all mothers everywhere are wondering how in the world do you have no hair and you are four?

Lilo and Stitch

My daughter discovered this movie a few weeks ago via Netflix, and after watching it just once I had to say “no more”. I mean, I understand that Lilo lost her parents, but my goodness! The tantrums, the whining, the disrespect- I just can’t take it! Not to mention that Stitch does anything but give you warm and fuzzy feelings.

Dora the Explorer

Now I know that this is a childhood favorite for many kiddos, but come on! Is it possible for Dora to scream anymore than she already does? I don’t think so, because she screams all. the. time. And her songs get stuck in your head, no matter how annoying they may be.

Yo Gabba Gabba

OK I can’t even watch this one with a straight face. I had heard of this show, but just recently experienced it. I think the whole time I watched it, I was staring at the screen, mouth agape, in total awe. I mean, was someone on an acid trip when they created this show? I just don’t get it. At all. Like not even a little.

OK, so now I have to know, what kid’s movies or TV shows can you not stand??
