Got Young Conspiracy Theorists? Check out these books, shows, podcasts, and more!
In a recent episode, Julie shared that her kids are turning into young conspiracy theorists. They love all things mystery and they enjoy hearing even the wildest theories. If your kids are into the same stuff, we’ve put together a list of books, shows, podcasts, and YouTube channels that your kids will love!
Books
Who Was and What Is Book series: These books are great and cover just about anything you can think of! If your kids love learning about people, places, and events, this is a great place to start. Julie’s kids call them “Big Head Books” because of the fun illustrations.
Chris Van Allsburg Books: Sure, you might be familiar with the Polar Express and Jumanji, but most Chris Van Allsburg books are the perfect mix of weird mystery! The illustrations are obviously great too. We suggest checking out The Stranger and The Mysteries of Harris Burdick.
Shows
Secrets of Sulfur Springs: This can be found on Disney+ and is such a fun mystery/SciFi show for kids! So far there are two seasons, but season two ended with a major cliffhanger, so we can expect more!
The Mysterious Benedict Society: This show is for kids who are a little older and able to pick up on some more nuance. It’s great and there is also a book series you can introduce to your kids and compare the book to the show!
Podcasts
The Mystery Kids Podcast: Kids will LOVE listening to this on long and short car rides. Host, Tess O’Driscoll covers all sorts of weird stuff, specifically for kids. Lake monsters, weird animals, spooky places, natural disasters – it’s all covered.
YouTube Channels
Top 5 Best: This channel covers it all! Mermaids, new species, amazing animals, coldest places… we could keep going and going. And in short little snippets that are easily watchable. Perfect for your young conspiracy theorists.
