Opening of Smokey Bear and Woodsy Owl: Home Sweet Home @ ECHO

Join Echo to welcome Smokey Bear & Woodsy Owl: Home Sweet Home, a traveling exhibit created by the Betty Brinn Children’s Museum in collaboration with the U.S. Forest Service.

At ECHO May 30 through Sept. 13, Smokey, Woodsy, and their woodland friends will teach us all about how to care for the natural resources we rely on to survive.
Join ECHO for a fun-filled opening day! The Burlington Fire Department will be on-site with truck tours and more from 10 a.m. until noon, ECHO’s partners at Clear Water Filtration will offer special programming in connection with ECHO’s NEW filtered water fill stations, and more! Members – to celebrate going bottled water free, the first 50 to stop in for this event will receive a free ECHO water bottle!
Be sure to stop in throughout the summer for presentations from the U.S. Forest Service, the Burlington Fire Department, and special visits from Smokey and Woodsy too!
Cost: Free With Admission which is Adults $13.50 | Seniors & College Students $11.50 |Children ages 3-17 $10.50 |Under 2 FREE

Birdfest! @ the North Branch Nature Center 

Join the North Branch Nature Center in Montpelier from 7 am to 1:30 pm to celebrate birds!

Highlights this year will include:

  • Warbler Walks with expert birders
  • Live raptors!
  • Bird banding demonstrations
  • “Birding in Kazakhstan” with Hank Kaestner
  • “Warblers and Woodlots” walk and talk from Audubon’s Foresters for the Birds
  • Bluebird box making
  • StoryWalk by the river
  • Bird-friendly Coffee
  • Children’s Activity Tent

Lund Ride for Children

Join this 4 mile family ride and raise money to support the programs at Lund that help children and families to thrive. Post ride festivities include live band, facepainting, bouncy houses, arts and crafts, free food (including Ben and Jerry’s) fire truck, Joey the Clown and more!

Longer rides for adults or more adventurous kids – 16, 30 or 55 mile routes.

Fully supported ride with rest stops and SAG van. Registration includes personalised website for easy fundraising, ride T shirt and entrance into a raffle for awesome prizes.

Cost: Adult or Child in the Family Ride: $10.00 | Adult or child riding in the family ride, $10 registration fee and $10 fundraising minimum. (Children aged 4 and under are free)
