All of us writers here at BVT Moms Blog love enjoying a sweet treat every now and then, and Burlington and it’s surrounding areas has some amazing options to choose from! So without further ado, here is our list of the top 10 sweet spots around Burlington. Grab your kiddos, pile into the car, and go enjoy some delicious goodies!

1. Sam’s Scoop Shop– Essex Junction: Sam’s serves 23 flavors of Gifford’s ice cream and serves goodies like milkshakes, sundaes, and ice cream cookie sandwiches. It is located in the same building as Maplehurst Florist.
2. My Little Cupcake– Essex and Burlington: This delicious cupcake shop has two locations; one in Burlington and one in Essex. They have tons of flavors to choose from, and they carry gluten free options! The small cupcakes are just the right size for a fun treat for toddlers without ruining a meal. The Salted Caramel is my favorite, but I’m also quite partial to the cakepops.

3. Orange Leaf Frozen Yogurt– Burlington, 192 College St: This is a new frozen yogurt shop that just opened up on College right off of Church St. My family and I have been several times now and our love only deepens after each visit! It is all self serve with tons of flavors to choose from. Then you get to pick your toppings, which can be a hard decision considering how many there are to choose from! My personal favorite is the wedding cake frozen yogurt with rainbow sprinkles and strawberries!
4. The Village Scoop– Colchester, 419 Main St: This place is seriously delicious! It is right off Main St. in Colchester and has a drive thru window for those quick stops on the way home or when you are out and about. They have cremees and hard ice creams with plenty of toppings to choose from. My personal favorite is the chocolate vanilla swirled cremee with Reese’s Peanut Butter Cups topping.

5. Harrington’s– Shelburne and Richmond: Although this is more widely known as a store that specializes in it’s smoked ham and mail order specialty food items, they have a delectable case of fresh desserts and baked goods! Go there for sweet and savory croissants, cinnamon rolls, blueberry muffins, and dessert bars like pecan pie, almond joy and pb&j. This is the perfect spot to go if you have to bring dessert to a gathering. A little of this and a little of that!
6. Bagel Cafe– New North End, 1127 North Ave: Even though this is a bagel shop, there are some delicious cremees to be had here! There is a cremee window that you can order at that is outside the restaurant. It’s not on the menu but you can get a baby size for just over $1. The small is huge and its only 1.80. We love going there since we can get cremees for a family of 4 for less than $6! They have the usual chocolate, vanilla, and maple but also have black raspberry.

7. Duke’s Cremees- Milton, 160 River St: This cremee stand has over 130 flavors and lots of toppings to choose from! Prices are reasonable and servings are BIG. The one size hard ice cream option is practically a pint of ice cream! They have a frequent buyers cone card, so be sure to get a stamp. I love the maple creme (baby size) with chocolate sprinkles. 🙂

8. Poorhouse Pies– Underhill: This is one that I have yet to try, but it is definitely on my bucket list due to rave reviews and mouthwatering pictures in my facebook newsfeed. This place is a home-based bakery that specializes in old fashioned pies, donuts, and other goodies. The pie shed is open mother’s day through late October, and their bake shop is open during the winter months. While I’ve heard their pies are delicious, it is their donuts that everyone raves about! They serve these fresh donuts on Sunday mornings from 8am to noon, or until they are gone.
9. Burlington Bay Market– Burlington: This is a great spot to grab some delicious cremees with a beautiful view! The lines are always long during summer at this cafe and market, but it tends to go fast and the cremees are definitely worth it! After you get your cremee you can sit out on the patio overlooking Lake Champlain.
10. SoYo Frozen Yogurt– Burlington: SoYo is a local favorite with their hand-crafted frozen yogurt made from local ingredients. They keep things fresh by regularly rotating their flavors and toppings based on the season. Their current flavors are original, key lime, creamsicle, and chocolate.
