10 Burlington Area Pick Your Own Berry Farms

Summer in Vermont is truly magical. There are so many wonderful, family-friendly activities and adventures to be experienced, and one of those is pick your own berries.

We’ve done some research and created a list of 10 Burlington area, pick your own berry farms for you and your kids to enjoy!

PYO berry farms

1. Sam Mazza’s

Sam Mazza's

This farm located in Colchester tends to be one of the more popular ones. They have fun festivals (like their Strawberry Festival and their Harvest Festival) and pick your own strawberries, blueberries, raspberries and pumpkins. Kiddos can also enjoy their small play structure for some additional fun!

2. Charlotte Berry Farm

This berry farm in Charlotte has gorgeous views and pick your own strawberries, blueberries, raspberries and black raspberries. You can also enjoy their berry creemees which get rave reviews! Unfortunately, this summer (2014) they will only have pre-picked strawberries for sale as their fields were destroyed by the heavy rains of last year.

3. Adam’s Berry Farm

Located in Charlotte, Vermont, this berry farm has certified organic strawberries, blueberries, raspberries and table grapes. This years (2014) pick your own will start with blueberries in mid-July. There is also a sandbox which is great for little ones!

4. Isham Family Farm

This farm located in Williston has activities and products throughout the year. They have pick your own blueberries in early July and fall raspberries.

5. Owls Head Berry Farm

Located in Richmond, this berry farm has live musics most Tuesday and Thursday evenings during berry picking season. This farm is strictly for blueberry picking and the season typically begins in mid-July. This years opening day is scheduled for July 13!

6. Paul Mazza’s

This farm has two locations (Colchester and Essex) for you to pick your own strawberries, blueberries, and raspberries. This farm can be great for moms with little ones as you can park right by the field so you don’t have to haul your carton of berries very far!

7. River Berry Farm

This small vegetable and small fruit farm is located in Fairfax, VT and is open from May 1st through Halloween. All produce is organic and you can be sure to beat the crowds that you may find at some of the larger berry farms.

8. Pomykala Farm

A small farm located in Grand Isle that has pick your own strawberries along with a farmstand loaded with goodies. It is located on Lake Champlain, so you can pick berries and enjoy some beautiful views!

9. Norris Berry Farm

This berry farm in Hinesburg has pick your own strawberries, raspberries and blueberries, as well as a farmstand full of delicious vegetables.

10. Last Resort Berry Farm

This farm, located in Monkton, is certified organic and offers a unique features called their “Toddler Rows” where roam accompanied by an adult, free from strict rules and not worry about where they are stepping! You can pick your own strawberries as well as blueberries, raspberries, currants and mulberries by appointment.
