Cooking With Kids in Vermont!

2

My son, Charlie, loves to cook. He’s always asking to help in the kitchen! At first, it was hard for me to let him help because while he’s a great little cook, he’s awful messy! I’ve learned though that engaging him in cooking has not only been a great way to teach a valuable life skill, it’s also pretty fun!

We’ve been exploring many of the local kids cooking classes in Vermont and I thought it would be fun to share our favorites with all of you!

1. Healthy Living offers weekly Kids in the Kitchen cooking classes. We made French Toast Pops when we attended and oh what delicious fun we had!

2. City Market holds cooking classes once a month at only $5 per kid for members! We made homemade pita bread and an incredible Moroccan stew on our visit. We are really looking forward to attending their Homemade Soup to Eat and Share event where we will make a large pot of golden cheddar cheese soup and then pack up a care package to bring to COTS to share with families in need of housing. How amazing is that?!

3. I recently wrote about our super fun empanada adventure on the Kids VT blog. We loved Chef Contos quaint little store  and I am looking forward to setting up a girl’s night at one of the adult cooking classes offered there!

4. Panadero Bakery (now Barrio Bakery) holds cookie decorating for kids every Wednesday! This one is next on our list of things to do!

The best place for kids to learn to cook is in your own kitchen, but if you’re up for a fun night out with your kiddo, check out all of these fun local kids cooking classes!
