2 Reasons Your Kids Might Hate Wearing Clothes
Do your kids walk into the house and immediately strip to their diapers or underwear? It’s not uncommon for either of us to have kids roaming around our homes in various stages of undress at all times of the year. Both of us have this issue, most specifically, with our second children (it’s always the second child, right?)
We recently took some time to talk out the issue and compare stories and we have two ideas as to why kids might prefer to lounge around the house in just their undies.
2 Reasons Why Your Kid Might Prefer to Lounge in Their Unmentionables:
Sensory Issues:
Many young kids have sensory issues with clothing. Some of the most common we’ve seen (and experienced) have to do with tags in shirts, the texture of the clothing (typically being too stiff or rough,) and the waistband of pants being too rough or restrictive.

Body Type:
According to the ancient Indian science of health and wellness, there are three body types (or doshas): Vata, Pitta, and Kapha. Each dosha is balanced by five elements: air, earth, space, water, and fire. You can learn more about the doshas, here.
Pitta dosha is based on fire and water. People with a Pitta dosha typically have a muscular build, are athletic, and are strong leaders. They also have quick metabolisms with contributes and good circulation which often leaves them feeling hungry and hot.
A child who prefers to have on less clothing, especially when in a climate-controlled home, could very likely have a Pitta dosha (which might lead to them stripping out of their shirt and pants while at home.)
