Eat X NE @ Oakledge Park
Presented by the Skinny Pancake and Higher Ground, ExNE (Eat by Northeast) is a FREE 3-day celebration of Vermont food and a fundraiser for local food organizations.
Kid-friendly programming happens Saturday and Sunday, including notionally-acclaimed kids performer Dan Zanes.
This event is FREE and all are welcome. Entry to the festival is free. All live music on Friday and Saturday is free, and so are Dan Zanes‘ sets on Sunday. All 30+ of the Go Local Sessions are free. The Kids’ Zone is free. There will be free food samples and recipe ideas from sponsors like the South End Kitchen, Healthy Living, and City Market.

Shelburne Farms 36th Annual Harvest Festival
Celebrate Vermont farm and forestry traditions through connections with food, agriculture, and community! This day-long festival features music, storytelling, hands-on activities for children, traditional craft demonstrations, educational exhibits on Vermont’s agricultural, environmental, and energy future.
Throughout the day, families can participate in hands-on activities in the Family Tent and spend time in the Children’s Farmyard. Educational exhibits will feature antique farm machinery, birds of prey, farm animals, and more!
There will be opportunities to meet craftspeople – rug hookers, woodworkers, weavers, spinners, cheesemakers, and gardeners – and try some traditional arts. There will be “forest to furniture” demonstrations of wood turning, carving, pole lathe, and more.
The festival will also include a hay bale maze (“the hay-mazing race”), as well as horse-drawn hay rides provided by Green Mountain Draft Horse Association and Green Mountain Miniature Horse and Donkey Association.

Fall Fun @ Adams Farm Market
Visit the Adams Apple Orchard for Fall Fun Activities this year. Although there will be no Harvest Festival, as always dizzy’s dozen donuts will be in the orchard every weekend.
September 20th and 21st: Showtime in the Orchard!
Saturday: No Strings Marionette Co performs Bully For the Three Pigs! Shows 12:00 and 3:00
Sunday: ROOT 7 A Vermont contemporary a cappella group SHOWS TIMES TBD
September 27th and 28th: Hands on Activities. Try your hand at cider making, create your own picturesque family photo-op. We will have the materials and props…you bring the fun and smiles!
October 4th and 5th: Petting Zoo. Hannah Smith, from Vinegar Ridge Farm will be returning with her wonderful assortment of Vermont Farm Animals for you to visit.

Williston Chowder Challenge
The 2014 Williston Chowder Challenge is a friendly competition to let the public and culinary experts pick their favorite chowder. Chowder Masters get bragging rights, publicity, and exposure! Prizes will be awarded in four categories: Judges’ Choice, Peoples’ Choice, Public Class, and Best Display.
The Williston Chowder Challenge will benefit the Williston Community Food Shelf and the Williston Police Officers’ Association. Come support these two great organizations while enjoying some yummy chowder!

- Price of admission includes a ticket for door prizes.
