I have to admit that one of my favorite perks of owning BurlingtonVT Moms Blog is having the opportunity to work with so many amazing, local photographers. I feel like every few weeks I’m discovering another amazingly talented photographer in the area and stalking their work via Facebook.
This was how I discovered Stephanie of Stephanie Keesler Photography, and I immediately fell in love with her work. I loved her photojournalistic style and how she is able to capture the essence of a family. I reached out to see if she would be interested in photographing our family, and luckily she said yes!
Stephanie has lived her whole life in Vermont, and spent most of her time as an adult working with children. After the birth of her first child in 2011, she became a stay at home Mom. Being a Mom seemed to fit like a glove, and she utterly adores spending quality time with her daughter. Something was missing though, and as she grew and became more independent, she knew she needed something more to fill my time. She’s always been a creative person whether it be as a musician, jewelry maker, or fellow coloring partner to her now 3 year old. However, she needed something new, so she dug out the DSLR she had purchased in 2012 and began learning as much as she could on my own. She practiced by taking A LOT of photos of her daughter and fiancé, and then started doing small sessions for family and friends. Soon after, she created a photography page, and began offering sessions to the public. Even though she’s been doing it for less than a year, she’s fallen deeply in love with photography and everything it has brought into her life. She’s met so many wonderful people and have been able to capture love, happiness, joy and so many special moments. She continues to enjoy learning about photography and it’s components and looks forward to capturing the beauty in everything around her.
I followed her lead on a location choice with a place I had never heard of; Wheeler Homestead in South Burlington. I’m so glad I listened to her because this little gem is beautiful! The grounds are stunning, the old brick house makes you wonder about all that has gone on there over the years, and there are countless places for kiddos to explore.
I loved that Stephanie had me fill out a short questionare before our shoot, so she could get a feel of what I was looking for. Once we were there, she provided a great balance of giving instruction and ideas when needed and just allowing our family to “be” as she snapped pictures.
I love the beautiful candid shots she was able to capture of us and the girls. Those fleeting moments that happen on a daily basis that you wish you could just freeze in time, and now I have a beautiful image that capture them perfectly.

Family photo sessions are always fun!
We have never had family photos taken. I would so love to. My daughter is 18 months old and it would make my Christmas so much better.
I have never had professional photos taken of my family! Would absolutely love to have this experience! ( If I can get my 2 year old twins to stay still!) 🙂

Two years ago by a photography enthusiast, never by a photographer
We had a wonderful photographer that recently just moved out of state, the last time we had pictures taken was a year ago
We had a few shots taken last month when my youngest had school photos done but haven’t done a full on photo shoot for probably over 3 years!
We had photos taken when our little girl was 6 months old. She’s going to be a year and it would be amazing to document this milestone!
We have not had formal family pictures done in a long time! With 4 kids, would love the opportunity to have them done!
We’ve never had a family session with all of us. Would really, really love to finally win a photography session! I especially like Stephanie’s style. Thanks for the chance to win!

I have never had family photos done since my new son was born. As a single mom to two boys, photos are a luxury that I just don’t have the money for right now.
Stephanie did our family pictures and they were great. I’d love to get another chance to meet up with her!
Love your beautiful family photos!

I love everything about these pictures. Beautiful. We have never had family photos taken but with our second baby on the way in just a couple of weeks (give or take, right?) we are looking to invest in family photos!
