Momma Needs a Haircut: A Review of Envision Boutique Salon

8

A few members of our team recently got to check out a new salon in Burlington!

Envision Boutique Salon recently opened it’s doors in the South End of Burlington off of Shelburne Rd.. Tu, a former hair stylist at Indigo Salon, has ventured out to start her own business and the result is stunning!

She completely renovated the old salon that was previously there into a beautiful and stylish space that exudes elegance and tranquility. It’s the perfect place to relax and be pampered, and what momma doesn’t need that?!

Joanna’s review:

Clean, modern and comfortable! Envision, a new boutique salon right outside the city limits of Burlington did not disappoint. I’ve never been great at articulating what I want to a stylist, which usually leads to mediocre results. Owner/stylist Tu did an excellent job with listening to my concerns as a new mom and gave me an easy to wear and style haircut. I will be back for another hair cut and other additional services that they offer like waxing, pedicures and color!

Josilyn’s review:

I am a NH transplant and for 6 years I had a hair stylist I absolutely loved, when I moved to VT over 4 years ago I have seen a few different stylists but continue to be on the search for right fit. Recently I went to Envision Boutique and Hair Salon to get my hair highlighted by Tu. When I arrived I was struck by how bright and inviting it is. To me it’s the perfect type of salon. It’s a mix of clean, modern, and not too big. From the pedicure stations to the art on the wall everything has been tastefully and thoughtfully chosen. Tu and her husband spent 4 months renovating the space from top to bottom and not one detail was missed. During the three hours I spent at the salon I was in a constant state of relaxation and peace, which is really important to me. When I go to get my haircut or pedicure it’s a splurge and I don’t want to be overwhelmed by dozens of stylists and constant people going in and out. At Envision there is a sense of calm.

Tu previously worked at Indigo Salon for 10 years, and recently made the decision to venture on her own and open her own Salon. Tu is an amazing stylist, which was obvious not only by the final product, but by how she listened to what I wanted, asked questions, and made suggestions. I can be extremely indecisive and appreciate when a stylist can tell me what would look good for my face, coloring etc (and that in the end it actually does!). When I walked in I was undecided on what kind of highlights I wanted, but with Tu’s help we decided on a warm blond that would be noticeable but understated and look natural all at the same time. Tu has a complete color line for clients to choose from. Although Tu could have opted not to get some of the colors, as they aren’t as popular, it is important to her that her clients are able to have the full spectrum to choose from. This is Tu’s underlying philosophy for her business.

Overall, I couldn’t have been happier with the process or the end result. Tu gave me a head massage while washing my hair, that was absolutely to die for. I would go in to see her in the future just to get my hair washed. Tu was very delightful to talk with and she was also very accommodating and cut my bangs for me that were driving me absolutely nuts because of how long they had become even though that was not why I had come in. Most importantly for me, Tu is a mom, and when I asked her if in the future I could bring my 5 month old with me, she told me I absolutely could. One of the benefits of Envision Boutique being a smaller salon is that having a child playing or rolling around or even crying won’t bother several other people. Before leaving I told Tu that I would be back because I finally had found a stylist that I knew I could trust and my hair looked amazing.

Nissa’s Review:

I was able to experience a pedicure by Tu and it was amazing! Getting a pedicure is one of my favorite ways to pamper myself, but I rarely ever get the opportunity to have one done. The last one I had was right before Maggie was born, which was 16 months ago!

The pedicure space was relaxing and comfortable, with ample magazines to read (I NEVER get to just sit a read a magazine anymore, so this alone was heaven). The pedicure process was heavenly, with the warm water, delicious scents, leg and foot massage, and foot mask. I ended the pedicure by picking a mint green polish and left feeling relaxed and refreshed!

  1. Good timing on this post! I was actually thinking that I need a haircut soon, it’s been a while since I had one back in February!
