The past few months we have been working hard at making our house a home. We moved in last January but officially bought it in May, and with the help of my dad (Mr. Handyman himself) we have been completing some projects, painting, and decorating.
One thing that I love to have around my home are family pictures. I really enjoy having these daily visual reminders of how truly blessed I am to have such a wonderful little family. As we were working on the house and I began doing some decorating I quickly realized that now that we were a family of four, no longer just three, that we would need some new family pictures.
I had spied Kristy Dooley Photography’s work on one of my friends pages and began following her on facebook. I loved her lifestyle photography and knew that I would love to have her take some photos of our family one day. And now that we needed new photos done, there was no better time than the present!
Kristy has always had a love for photography but didn’t start learning herself until she was pregnant with her second daughter. She dove head first into her photography education and hasn’t stopped shooting since. She found myself longing for a way to capture the moments that were passing all too quickly. She loves focusing on the details of her busy life with two toddlers, capturing moments that someday she knows will be easily forgotten. Likewise, she loves working with other families to capture authentic, genuine, and fun moments in their lives.

Kristy was amazing to work with. She was prompt and thorough in all of our communication leading up to and following the shoot. When picture day came she worked with us to determine if we still wanted to take them since the weather wasn’t looking all that promising. We decided to go for it and I’m so glad we did because the rain held out the whole time!
My daughter Nora was a little apprehensive at first and you can definitely see that in the first few family photos, but Kristy was so great in helping Nora to feel comfortable. She spent some time with her one on one, let Nora play freely, and took an interest in all of her leaf and rock collecting. By the end of the shoot Nora was smitten and Kristy was able to get some wonderful shots of her! I loved all of the photos that Kristy captured. She truly did capture authentic and genuine moments of our little family that I will treasure forever.
