If you haven’t heard of Pinterest I have two things to say to you.
1.) Do you live under a rock?
2.) I’m sorry I just told you about it because “free time” as you know it is gone forever.
Pinterest is a fun way to keep track of all kinds of ideas from around the web; whether it be recipes, decorating ideas, style inspiration or just some fun memes to laugh at.
I use Pinterest as inspiration for all those reasons and more. I thought it would be fun to show you some of the ideas I have seen on Pinterest that have sparked some actual results in my life! Here are some “pins” that I have recreated in real life!
Decorating
In my kitchen I used decorating ideas for my kitchen galore:
Curtain idea by Women’s Day. My Mom sewed these for me out of an old curtain that I loved but didn’t fit my new windows. Perfect!
Open shelves are all the rave! I had the perfect spot for them too so when I saw the picture below from Coastal Living, I knew I needed them! My talented husband made them for me and I painted and distressed them to match my cabinets. I love them!
Food
I haven’t opened a cookbook in I don’t know how long! I love using Pinterest for recipe ideas.
I found a new smoothie favorite from The Penny Wise Mama!
I have also eaten this amazing combo for lunch a few times a week. It’s spinach, tomatoes, avocado, lemon juice, salt and pepper. I haven’t been able to find the original source, but whoever you are, thanks!
Style
Say what, Moms are allowed to have style? Pinterest has inspired me to try new outfit combos and hair ideas. It’s so fun to get inspired to take care of myself!
This outfit probably ins’t the best example since I’m wearing leggings as pants, but it was for a quiet night with my boys so we’re going to let it slide, ok?
PS – the plates on the wall in the background were also Pinterest inspired!
I have been growing out my hair and after seeing some cute curly do’s, I decided to give it a try. Not even close to the picture of the perfect celebrity from Style Bistro, but it was fun and it felt good to do something girly!
Memes and Other Fun Stuff
My favorite memes that I see all over Pinterest that just plain make me laugh are the Ryan Gosling memes and the Ain’t Nobody Got Time For That memes.
Even if you don’t get inspired to actually do anything you see on Pinterest, it serves well for a time waster.

Wow! I’m impressed by everything you actually recreated. I always wonder when I see people constantly pinning image after image how many things they actually end up doing. This is cool to see!
