Mom’s Night Out in Atlantic City: A travel guide you {probably shouldn’t} follow

Last month, a few of The Basic Moms were together for a night out in Atlantic City. Now, we all know moms don’t always get out much, and when we do – sometimes we just want to relax. This trip was NOT relaxing.

Here, we’ll cover what we did… but also what we probably should have done instead. We’ll include some alternate options, too.

Mom’s Night Out Guide to Atlantic City:

1. Where to Stay!

We stayed at the Borgata and loved it. The Borgata is a bit more pricey than most of the hotels/casinos in Atlantic City but it is worth it. We prefer to stay on the marina end of AC as opposed to on the boardwalk, but that’s just a personal preference.

Other decent hotel/casinos to check out in AC:

2. Grab Dinner!

We had dinner at Chart House at the Golden Nugget. The food was incredible and the view was great. We also considered going to Dock’s Oyster House or Chef Vola’s. And, honestly, you can’t go wrong with any of the restaurants at Borgata.

3. Catch a Show

After dinner, we caught a show: Master’s of Illusion at Harrah’s. It was, ummmmm, not great… but at the same time, he had so much fun. We probably could have had a blast anywhere, though.

There are always tons of shows in AC. I prefer comedy shows, personally. You can see just about everything going on any night of the year in Atlantic City right here.

4. Drinks, Drinks. Drinks!

Of course, after-show drinks were in order. We hit up Gypsy Bar in Borgata where there was a fun 80’s cover band playing. Yes, we scream/sang the rest of the night.

We also considered checking out Dueling Pianos at the Hard Rock but we never made it there.

5. Go to bed, you old!

Okay, ladies, here’s the most important thing… once the bar closes, GO TO BED! You’re old. This is where we went wrong. We stayed out, kept drinking, and ate weird random foods. We didn’t get to bed until almost 5 AM. Annnnnnnnd, we all had to mom the next day!

6. Brunch it.

Needless to say, we didn’t make it to brunch the next morning. Sadly. I was so looking forward to it. We had reservations at Rhythm and Spirits.

In hindsight, we also wish we’d gotten down there early enough in the day to hit up the spa. Borgata has a gorgeous spa. But, alas, mom can’t have more than 24 hours away, right? (Please note the side eye.)
