Family Movie Night @ Brownell Library

Come to Brownell Library in Essex from 6:30 pm to 8:10 pm for Family Movie Night featuring, Disney’s Planes: Fire & Rescue – This heart-pumping comedy-adventure features a dynamic crew of elite aircraft devoted to protecting historic Piston Peak National Park from raging wildfires. When world-famous air racer Dusty learns that he may never race again, he must shift gears and is launched into the world of aerial firefighting. Dusty joins forces with a team of veteran firefighters; together, they battle a massive fire, and Dusty learns what it takes to be a true hero. Free popcorn and drinks. (Rated PG, 100min.)

Free Nordic Skiing: Winter Trails Days

Interested in Cross Country Skiing or Snowshoeing as a family? Participate in Winter Trails®, a FREE, nationwide event held at many of Vermont Nordic resorts.

Participating areas in Vermont:

Bolton Valley Nordic Center:  Offering an introductory lesson at 10am and 2pm which will include a 2 hour rental of ski package or snowshoes, 30 minute first time ski or snowshoe lesson and trail passes for the day.  Must pre-register.

Blueberry Lake: Try cross country skiing and snowshoeing for free.   Open to those new to the sports.

Craftsbury Outdoor Center: For those ‘new to the sport’, complimentary trail use and rental equipment for snowshoeing and cross country skiing. Also an introductory  x-c group lesson @ 1:30 pm.

Ole’s Cross Country Ski Center: We will offer first timers and “not skied xc in years” folks free trail passes and rentals from 1PM to closing. There will be a free mini-lesson at 1PM.

Mountain Top Inn & Resort Nordic Ski & Snowshoe Center: The Mountain Top Inn & Resort, in central Vermont, is pleased to participate in WINTER TRAILS DAY on January 11, 2014

Woodstock Nordic Center: First-time skiers and snow shoers receive complimentary trail passes and rental equipment.

Smugglers’ Notch Resort Nordic Ski and Snowboard Center: POSTPONED DUE TO SNOW UNTIL FEB 1!! Smugglers’ Notch Resort Nordic Ski and Snowshoe Adventure Center welcomes individuals new to snowshoeing and cross-country skiing on Winter.

Rikert Nordic Center: Clinics available free of charge during the Winter Trails Event for those ‘new to the sport’ only.

Strafford Nordic Center: Learn how to cross country ski or snowshoe and start up a lifelong activity where you can enjoy exercising outside during our beautiful Vermont winters. We invite ‘new to the sport’ skiers of all ages to take advantage of our Winter Trails Day specials at Strafford Nordic Center – free group beginner lessons at 11am and 1pm. Jay Peak Nordic and Snowshoe Center: A day of skiing and snowshoeing for beginners of all ages.  This is a free event for those who have never tried either sport. Lessons and activities ongoing throughout the day.  Please contact [email protected] for availabililty.

Children’s Carnival @ The Edge- Williston

Join in the fun at the Carnival at the EDGE in Williston & kick off the Big Change Roundup with WOKO and the Vermont Children’s Hospital.
