A Timeless Scarf: Crafty Necessities Review and Giveaway :: Closed

I first discovered Kelly and Crafty Necessities after a mom was raving about her work on a Facebook group page. I decided to check out Kelly’s work and LOVED what I saw! I emailed her right away to see if she would be willing to do a giveaway for the blog, and lucky for you all, she gladly agreed!

Kelly is a stay at home mom who loves the benefit of being able to be home with her kids but always felt like she needed something more; something just for her. Enter the beginning of Crafty Necessities!

Kelly had taught herself to crochet 12 years ago. She crocheted items like blankets and scarves for friends and family for a few years. One day she decided to make a hat for her newest baby. She made a hat that came out too big and posted a picture of her wearing the hat and a horrible “cry face” on facebook. She received so many compliments on it and immediately was asked to make hats for people’s children. She started making hats to order and now she has over 385 followers on her Facebook business page!

She loves to create new items and loves when customers bring their ideas to her. She sees it as challenges and she loves a good challenge! Not only does she do custom work of items she has already created, but she is also happy to take your ideas and create something beautiful. Kelly takes great pride in what she makes and she really sees her “hobby” as a labor of love. Each piece takes a lot of time, but she loves that they will be used to keep someone cozy and gorgeous.

What does Kelly love most about her job? Getting to experience the joy she sees on peoples faces when they see her items on their children or grandchildren. The excitement customers have when they get to design their items and then are so happy when they get to see it for the first time. When you order from her it really allows you personalize your gift and put more thought into it than just buying an item off the shelf. And by purchasing an item from Kelly you get to support a local momma and a local business at the same time!

Not only did Kelly agree to do a giveaway, but she graciously sent one of her beautiful cowls to one of our contributors to review. Here are Mauranda’s thoughts…

It’s been quite frigid here in the Green Mountain state. I’m known to bundle up with a warm scarf every.single.day. They are cozy, warm, soft, relaxing, an easy accessory, and the long ones make excellent nursing covers for the nursing-mom-on-the-go. When I heard of the scarves from Crafty Necessities, I couldn’t wait to try it out. The thick yarn, tight knit and soft blend made it an immediate favorite. I love the button details, the pattern that adds texture, and most of all – the fact that it’s made in VERMONT! I can wear this to run errands, at home while curled up with a book (well…I dream of being able to curl up with a good non kids book, but we all know that doesn’t happen with 2 small children!), or dress it up a little with some earrings and a classic up-do hairstyle. Regardless of how you wear it, you’ll love it!

Along with those top qualities, it’s timeless. Even though I love to shop, nothing is more annoying than buying a piece of clothing/accessory and have it be out of style quicker than you can say “there goes my money out the window”. This scarf will be a great addition to my wardrobe for years to come. And since it was clearly made with such craft and quality, it will defiantly last for years to come as well.

  1. My programmer is trying to persuade me to move to .net from PHP.
I have always disliked the idea because of the expenses. But he’s tryiong none
the less. I’ve been using Movable-type on various websites for about
a year and am anxious about switching to another platform.

I have heard excellent things about blogengine.net. Is there a way I can transfer all my wordpress content into it?
Any help would be really appreciated!
